Fractal Flow 1.1 is the latest version of our fractal image distortion plug-in. Fractal Flow provides 3 different kinds of effects: Distortions, ripples, and waves. Each effect has many controls to define that effect and all effects also support lighting controls to enhance the effect, as well as anti-aliasing of effects.

Fractal Flow now supports a number of 2d platforms in addition to 3ds max. Discreet combustion, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Premiere, and Digital Fusion are all supported. With our Hydra Licensing System, each of these platforms can share a single license. Fractal Flow can also be network licensed using Hydra. This means that any computer on your network can use Fractal Flow on any supported package using a single licensing server.

Fractal Flow’s interface works seamlessly with all of its supported packages. On the right is how the interface is organized in Digital Fusion. Each of Fractal Flow’s types of distortions and controls are given separate tabs. Each of the supported packages use appropriate organizational standards so that you will not need to learn a new workflow or interface when using Fractal Flow.

Fractal Flow has also been highly optimized with Pentium 4 extensions to provide you the best performance possible on your system. With these new optimizations you can see a more than 200% increase in performance. Fractal Flow is also fully multi threaded, which will take advantage of all of the cpu ’s on your workstation.

Fractal Flow’s fractal based distortions and wave effects generate a smooth and organic distortion that will avoid the looping artifacts of other distortion systems. Fractal Flow’s distortion effects can be layered to increase the complexity of the distortion. This is often useful when creating heat distortions for example, since there are a number of wavelets in these types of effects.
