Description
LumaObject is not another Radiosity program nor does it take an incredible amount of time to render 3D scenes. However, LumaObject is a new light object for 3ds max/VIZ. It turns any mesh into a light emitter or it even simulates Radiosity by turning meshes into real light reflectors!
LumaObject is the only 3ds max/VIZ plug-in that enables you to render your images with unsurpassed quality and richness when it gets into lighting your scenes. Usually 3ds max/VIZ does not support area light effects or even diffuse light distribution between 3D surfaces in a scene. Usually you were forced to buy expensive and highly specialized Radiosity plug-ins to achieve the natural diffuse look in a scene. Most of them are useless for the professional CG-artist or special effects animator. Because all Radiosity programs of today face one big problem: ANIMATION!
LumaObject is able to animate area lights and even diffuse, multi-reflected light bounces in a complex scene. They can be animated without increasing render time. A dream comes true for every special effects artist! And even the professional interior design people amongst you will get benefit from LumaObject.
LumaObject uses the latest proprietary technology developed by cebas’ programmers. This technology is called "LIGHTFEEDBACK". We define this rendering method as a First-Step-Radiosity-Process that fits perfectly between standard Scanline rendering methods and Radiosity.
As discussed in the chapter above LumaObject shows up as a standard light object in 3ds max/VIZ and thanks to our proprietary AABS system it’s just a simple mouse click to turn any mesh in the scene into a light emitter or light reflector. When used as a light reflector LumaObject handles all complex light bounces and intensity levels automatically. As an example take a simple 3D scene: a white wall will brighten the room while a black wall won’t add any light to the scene. Exactly as you would expect it from a real Radiosity program. LumaObject does those kind of calculations without adding any extra amount of render time when animating those reflective surfaces.
